What to check before you buy a cheap VPS
- Is it local NVMe, and what is the IOPS cap
- How much traffic is included, and what egress costs beyond it
- Is it managed or unmanaged (most value VPS are unmanaged)
- Snapshot and backup options, and their cost
- A region close to your users, with a test IP to ping

A cheap VPS is only cheap if you can run it. If you have never used SSH, budget either the time to learn or the money for a managed layer on top. An unmanaged box you cannot secure is not a bargain.
