Crypto publishing splits into four tiers, and only two carry weight for SEO. Know which one you are pitching before you send anything.
The major news outlets do not take open guest posts. The research sites take co-authored data work. The project blogs take education for their learn sections. The altcoin portals are the risky layer. The list of 100 is below, grouped by tier.
Pick your tier first
| Tier | Examples | How you get in |
|---|---|---|
| Major crypto news | CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, The Block, Decrypt, Bitcoin Magazine, DL News | Not open guest posts. A verifiable exclusive, original research, or expert commentary on a live story |
| Research & data | Messari, Glassnode Insights, Kaiko, CoinMetrics, Delphi Digital, The Defiant | Co-authored on-chain research, a data study, or an analyst interview |
| Project & exchange blogs | Binance Academy, Coinbase Learn, Kraken Learn, Changelly, CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap Alexandria | Contributed education for their learn sections; no token promotion |
| Altcoin & price news | CryptoPotato, AMBCrypto, U.Today, CryptoSlate, BeInCrypto, CryptoNews | Genuine news and analysis; disclosed bio link only, and watch for pay-to-publish |
What the metrics mean
| Metric | What it is | How much it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Domain Rating (DR) | Ahrefs' 0 to 100 score for a whole site's backlink profile | A useful filter, not a verdict |
| Domain Authority (DA) | Moz's equivalent 0 to 100 score | Same idea as DR |
| Page Authority (PA) | Moz's score for one specific page | Matters once you know which page your post will live on |
| URL Rating (UR) | Ahrefs' score for one specific URL | Same purpose as PA |
| Monthly Traffic | Estimated organic visits per month | The most honest signal that a link will be seen |
Here is the deal: crypto is one of the most link-spammed niches on the web, sponsored "news" is sold openly, and Google treats most of the space as YMYL. A placement on CoinDesk or Decrypt is worth more than fifty altcoin-blog links, and the fifty carry risk.
The 100 sites
Domain Rating, Domain Authority, Page Authority, URL Rating and estimated monthly traffic. Every domain was checked live in September 2026; dead, parked and sponsored-only sites were replaced with live equivalents. Metrics are third-party estimates and shift over time.

The pitch that works
- Lead with the finding. "On-chain data shows exchange outflows hit a 3-year high" or "we traced the exploit across four chains" earns the read.
- Prove you did the work. A dashboard, a query, a GitHub repo, a disclosure timeline.
- Pitch the desk. "For your DeFi coverage" or "for the research section" shows you read the outlet.
- Bring the assets. Charts, a data set, addresses, a methodology note.
- Match the format. News wants a sourced story. Research sites want a data-grade write-up. Learn sections want a clear explainer.
- Disclose any token, fund or protocol you have a position in.
The test: would an editor run this if you had nothing to sell? If yes, pitch it. If it exists only to place a link, it goes in the bin.
What not to do
- Pay for "press release" placement on sites that sell it, then treat it as an editorial link.
- Pitch a "what is blockchain" explainer. Every site has one.
- Send price predictions dressed as analysis.
- Put exact-match anchors ("best crypto exchange") on links back to your platform.
- Run AI-generated "crypto news" with no reporting and no named author.
Bottom line: in crypto, a short list of placements on real news and research outlets beats a long list of price-blog links every time, and it is the only approach that does not put the domain at risk.
