iGaming publishing splits into four tiers, and only two of them are worth much for SEO. Know which one you are pitching before you send anything.

The B2B trade press and the established editorial sites carry real weight. The regulators and legal resources are strong but take no promotional links. The vast affiliate and review layer is mostly low value and part of it is risky. The list of 100 is below, grouped by tier.

Pick your tier first

TierExamplesHow you get in
B2B trade pressiGaming Business, SBC News, EGR, Gambling Insider, CasinoBeats, Yogonet, CDC Gaming, Next.ioOriginal industry data, regulatory analysis, executive commentary, market-entry breakdowns
Poker & betting editorialPokerNews, CardPlayer, CardsChat, Action Network, Legal Sports Report, Covers, PocketFivesReported analysis, strategy pieces from known players, data journalism on a live story
Affiliate & review portalsAskGamblers, LCB, Casino.org, VegasSlotsOnline, Gamble USA, BonusCAGenuine reviews, guides and news; disclosed bio link only on the ones with real editorial teams
Regulators & responsible gamblingUK Gambling Commission, ICLG, VIXIO, GGWAContributed legal or policy analysis; no promotional links at all

What the metrics mean

MetricWhat it isHow much it matters
Domain Rating (DR)Ahrefs' 0 to 100 score for a whole site's backlink profileIn this niche, treat a high DR with suspicion until you check how it was built
Domain Authority (DA)Moz's equivalent 0 to 100 scoreSame idea as DR
Page Authority (PA)Moz's score for one specific pageMatters once you know which page your post will live on
URL Rating (UR)Ahrefs' score for one specific URLSame purpose as PA
Monthly TrafficEstimated organic visits per monthThe single best filter here: real editorial traffic separates a useful site from a link shell

Here is the deal: iGaming is the niche most polluted with bought links and PBNs, and Google knows it. One placement on iGaming Business or Legal Sports Report is worth more than fifty casino-bonus blog links, and the fifty carry risk the one does not.

The pitch that works for iGaming editors

  1. Lead with the data or the jurisdiction. "Our Q3 figures for the Ontario market" or "what the new Brazil rules mean for operators" earns the read on the trade sites.
  2. Prove you are in the industry. A role at an operator, supplier, affiliate or law firm, or a track record of published analysis. Trade editors screen hard for insiders.
  3. Pitch the section. "For your regulation coverage" or "for the affiliate desk" shows you read the publication.
  4. Match the format. Trade sites want a tight, sourced analysis. Poker and betting sites want reported journalism or strategy. Review portals want a genuine guide.
  5. Bring the assets. A data set, a chart, an executive quote, a jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction table.
  6. Disclose the operator or affiliate tie up front. In a YMYL niche this is non-negotiable.

The test: would a trade editor run this if you had no brand to promote? If yes, pitch it. If it is a list of your own bonuses, it goes in the bin.

What not to do

  • Buy links from casino blogs that quote a flat per-post price. That is the exact footprint Google penalises here.
  • Pitch a regulator or responsible-gambling site anything with a commercial link.
  • Send "top 10 online casinos" content to a trade publication. They cover the industry, not the promotions.
  • Put exact-match anchors ("best online casino") on links back to your brand.
  • Run AI-generated market analysis with no real figures and no named author. Trade editors spot it instantly.

Bottom line: in iGaming, a short list of placements on real trade and editorial sites beats a long list of affiliate links every time, and it is the only approach that does not put the domain at risk. Use this list to find the few that count.

Frequently asked questions

Is guest posting even worth it in iGaming?

For SEO on a gambling site, the useful links are on the B2B trade press (iGaming Business, SBC, EGR, Gambling Insider), the established poker and betting editorial sites, and the regulator and legal resources. The thousands of thin casino-bonus blogs pass almost nothing and many carry a manual-action risk. Treat this list as a shortlist of the few worth pitching, not a target of 100.

What gets published on the iGaming trade sites?

Original industry data, regulatory analysis, market-entry breakdowns for a specific jurisdiction, executive commentary tied to a live story, and operator or supplier case studies with real numbers. Product promotion and generic 'top slots' content does not get past the desk.

Can I link to my casino or sportsbook?

On the trade and editorial sites, one disclosed link in the author bio at most, and only where the piece is genuine analysis. Gambling is a YMYL topic, so editors are strict. On regulator and responsible-gambling sites, no promotional link at all.

Does the affiliate-site part of this list carry risk?

Some of it does. Large parts of the casino-affiliate space trade links, run private blog networks and sell placements, and Google has hit the niche with manual actions and algorithmic suppression more than once. Stick to the sites with real editorial teams and real traffic, and avoid anything that offers a link for a flat fee.

The metrics do not match my SEO tool. Why?

Domain Rating and traffic estimates are recalculated constantly and differ between Ahrefs, Moz and Semrush. This niche churns fast, so a site that was strong last year may have lost its rankings. Re-check every site the week you plan to pitch it.
