"Lifestyle" is not a niche. It is a shelf that holds fashion, beauty, home, food, travel, wellness and parenting, and each of those has its own editors, its own angles, and its own bar.
Pitch Vogue a home-organisation tip and you will be ignored. Pitch a food site a fashion trend piece and same result. The list of 100 is below. First, work out which slice of it is yours.
Find your lifestyle sub-niche first
| Your sub-niche | Best fit on this list | What they run |
|---|---|---|
| Fashion & beauty | Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Byrdie, Who What Wear, The Zoe Report | Trends, expert how-tos, first-person style essays |
| Home & interiors | Apartment Therapy, Remodelista, Dwell, Elle Decor, Hunker, House Beautiful | Real projects, before-and-afters, practical guides |
| Food & drink | Serious Eats, Bon Appetit, Food52, The Kitchn, Epicurious, Eater | Tested recipes, technique, food culture |
| Travel | Afar, Travel + Leisure, Lonely Planet, Matador Network, Nomadic Matt | First-hand destination pieces, practical trip planning |
| Wellness & fitness | mindbodygreen, Well+Good, Self, Shape, Greatist, Outside | Evidence-based advice, expert-authored how-tos |
| Parenting | Parents, Scary Mommy, Motherly, Fatherly, MOTHER | Honest personal essays, practical guides, expert Q&A |
What the metrics mean
| Metric | What it is | How much it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Domain Rating (DR) | Ahrefs' 0 to 100 score for a whole site's backlink profile | A useful filter, not a verdict |
| Domain Authority (DA) | Moz's equivalent 0 to 100 score | Same idea as DR |
| Page Authority (PA) | Moz's score for one specific page | Matters once you know which page your post will live on |
| URL Rating (UR) | Ahrefs' score for one specific URL | Same purpose as PA |
| Monthly Traffic | Estimated organic visits per month | The most honest signal that a link will be seen |
Here is the deal: every site on this list has a high DR. That is not the tie-breaker. The tie-breaker is whether their readers are your customers, and whether the piece you can write fits what that specific editor publishes.

Domain Rating, Domain Authority, Page Authority, URL Rating and estimated monthly traffic. Every domain was checked live in September 2026; dead and parked sites were removed. Metrics are third-party estimates and shift over time.

The pitch that works for lifestyle editors
- Read their last month of coverage. Lifestyle editors plan around seasons and trends. Pitch into the calendar, not against it.
- Bring a specific angle, not a topic. Not "fall fashion". Something like "the one autumn wardrobe swap stylists make", with the detail to back it.
- Lead with why you. A credential, a first-hand experience, or original data. Lifestyle runs on voice and authority.
- Match their format. Personal essay, listicle, how-to, expert Q&A. Pitch the format they use for that topic.
- One clip. Your strongest piece in a similar style.
- Be honest about any brand tie. If you are pitching on behalf of a product, say so. Editors decide, but they punish surprises.
The test: would an editor commission this piece from a freelancer with no product to sell? If yes, pitch it. If the article only exists to place a link, it reads that way.
What not to do
- Pitch a generic seasonal roundup. Every editor has ten of those already.
- Send the same pitch across sub-niches. A food editor and a fashion editor want completely different things.
- Stuff affiliate or exact-match anchor links into the body.
- Submit AI-spun filler with no voice. Lifestyle is a voice-first category and thin content stands out badly.
- Chase the DR 90 titles first. Start with the sites where you can realistically land a yes and build clips.
Bottom line: a handful of placements on sites whose readers are your buyers will do more for your brand and your rankings than a long list of high-DR links in the wrong sub-niche. Use this list to find your handful.
