Mexican publishing splits into four tiers, and where you can land a byline depends on which one you aim at and whether the piece is in proper Mexican Spanish.

The national papers do not run guest posts. The business titles take practitioner analysis. The culture and lifestyle outlets are more open. The Mexico-travel and expat media are the most open of all. The list of 100 is below, grouped by tier.

Pick your tier first

TierExamplesHow you get in

What the metrics mean

MetricWhat it isHow much it matters
Domain Rating (DR)Ahrefs' 0 to 100 score for a whole site's backlink profileA useful filter, not a verdict
Domain Authority (DA)Moz's equivalent 0 to 100 scoreSame idea as DR
Page Authority (PA)Moz's score for one specific pageMatters once you know which page your post will live on
URL Rating (UR)Ahrefs' score for one specific URLSame purpose as PA
Monthly TrafficEstimated organic visits per monthThe most honest signal that a link will be seen

Here is the deal: the original export was mostly filler, tiny "mexico-keyword.com" domains that pass nothing. Those were removed. What is left is real Mexican media plus the Mexico-travel and expat titles that accept contributions.

The pitch that works for Mexican editors

  1. Write to the editor in Spanish. A pitch in English marks you as someone who will file English copy.
  2. Lead with the Mexican angle. Mexican data, a Mexican case, a federal or state policy hook, in the first two lines.
  3. Pitch the section. "Para su seccion de negocios" or "para la seccion de viajes" shows you read the outlet.
  4. Bring something a staff writer cannot get. Proprietary data on the Mexican market, a survey, first-hand operator experience here.
  5. Match the format. Op-ed desks want a tight argument. Business titles want a structured analysis. Travel media want a practical guide.
  6. Disclose any client or brand tie up front.

The test: would this editor run the piece if you had nothing to sell in Mexico? If yes, pitch it.

What not to do

  • Send an auto-translated article, or one in Spain's Spanish. Mexican editors notice both.
  • Pitch El Universal or Reforma a "guest post." That format does not exist there.
  • Buy links on the tiny "mexico-keyword.com" domains that were removed from this list.
  • Put exact-match anchors on links back to your product.
  • Use the same pitch for a national daily and a Yucatan expat blog.

Bottom line: a handful of placements in real Mexican media and the Mexico-travel titles, written in Mexican Spanish where required, will move rankings and revenue more than a long list of filler-domain links. Use this list to find your handful.

Frequently asked questions

Do the big Mexican papers like El Universal or Reforma accept guest posts?

No. El Universal, Reforma, Milenio and the national dailies commission from staff and columnists. They will take an op-ed (una colaboracion) or expert commentary tied to a live story. The realistic guest-post targets are the business titles, the culture and lifestyle outlets, and the Mexico-focused travel and expat media.

Does the article have to be in Spanish?

For the Mexican outlets, yes. Editors will not run a machine translation. Have a native Mexican Spanish speaker write or fully rework the piece; Mexican usage differs from Spain and from other Latin American countries. The expat and Mexico-travel titles aimed at foreigners run in English.

Can I link to my company or product?

One disclosed link in the author bio at most, and only where the piece is genuine analysis. Editors strip promotional links from the body. Business and finance pieces get the most scrutiny.

Why did the list change so much from the export?

The export was padded with dozens of near-dead 'mexico-something.com' domains, most with a DR under 20 and only a few hundred visits a month. Those do nothing useful. They were dropped and replaced with real Mexican media and Mexico-focused publications that were checked live in September 2026.

The metrics do not match my SEO tool. Why?

Domain Rating and traffic estimates are recalculated constantly and differ between Ahrefs, Moz and Semrush. Many Mexican news sites also block non-Mexican traffic, which can make automated checks under-report them.

Want us to run the outreach?

We build the shortlist by tier, write the pitches and the pieces in Mexican Spanish where it matters, and place them on real Mexican publications. No link farms, no filler domains, no risk.
