Parenting publishing splits into four tiers, and where you can land a byline depends on the credential or the story behind it.

The big pregnancy and baby brands are medically reviewed and staff-written. The parenting magazines take contributions with the right angle. The community sites want real parent voices. The independent blogs are open. The list of 100 is below, grouped by tier.

Pick your tier first

TierExamplesHow you get in
Pregnancy & baby brandsBabyCenter, What to Expect, The Bump, Pampers, Huggies, HealthyChildrenNot open guest posts. A byline from an OB-GYN, pediatrician, IBCLC or licensed therapist
Parenting magazinesParents, Today's Parent, Mother.ly, Fatherly, Mumsnet, KidspotFreelance and contributor pitches; an angle the staff missed, first-hand with expertise
Mom-community sitesScary Mommy, CafeMom, Romper, Grown and Flown, The Every MomReal parent voices; personal essays, relatable how-tos, community stories
Independent parenting blogsMama Natural, Aha! Parenting, Twiniversity, Your Modern Family, ParentMapOpen to contributions; niche expertise, personal experience, practical guides

What the metrics mean

MetricWhat it isHow much it matters
Domain Rating (DR)Ahrefs' 0 to 100 score for a whole site's backlink profileA useful filter, not a verdict
Domain Authority (DA)Moz's equivalent 0 to 100 scoreSame idea as DR
Page Authority (PA)Moz's score for one specific pageMatters once you know which page your post will live on
URL Rating (UR)Ahrefs' score for one specific URLSame purpose as PA
Monthly TrafficEstimated organic visits per monthThe most honest signal that a link will be seen

Here is the deal: the original export was padded with tiny, inactive mom blogs. Those were removed. Parenting is soft-YMYL, so a placement with a real expert byline on a reviewed site is worth far more than a link on a blog that has not posted since 2019.

The pitch that works for parenting editors

  1. Lead with the credential or the moment. "As a pediatric sleep consultant" or "the night my toddler's fever hit 104 and what the ER taught me" earns the read.
  2. Pitch the angle the staff missed. Not "how to sleep train." Something like "why sleep training advice fails for the second child."
  3. Bring your own detail. Real anecdotes, photos of your own kids where relevant, a framework you use.
  4. Match the tier's standard. Health and development pieces need an expert author or reviewer. Community pieces need an honest, specific voice.
  5. Send one clip in a similar register and your short bio.
  6. Disclose any product or program you have a stake in.

The test: would an editor run this if you had nothing to sell? If yes, pitch it. If it is an ad for your course, it goes in the bin.

What not to do

  • Pitch a generic "10 tips for new moms" listicle with no author credential.
  • Make feeding, sleep or child-health claims with no expert attached.
  • Send a personal essay with no specific detail. Parenting editors get thousands.
  • Stuff affiliate links, or point exact-match anchors ("best baby monitor") at your store.
  • Use AI-generated parenting content. It reads as generic and hollow immediately.

Bottom line: a few placements on reviewed brands and community sites with real readers will do more for rankings and trust than a long list of dormant mom-blog links. Use this list to find your few.

Frequently asked questions

Do sites like BabyCenter or Parents accept guest posts?

No. The big pregnancy and baby brands are medically reviewed and commission from staff and credentialed contributors. They will take a byline from an OB-GYN, pediatrician, IBCLC, or a licensed therapist. The parenting magazines and the community and independent blogs are far more open to contributions.

What do I need to pitch a parenting site?

For anything medical (pregnancy, feeding, sleep, development, child health), a relevant qualification or a named expert reviewer. For everyday parenting, first-hand experience with an angle the staff missed. Parenting is a soft-YMYL topic, so editors check credentials on health claims.

Can I link to my product, course or service?

One disclosed link in the author bio at most, and only on the sites that take contributed articles. Editors strip promotional links from the body and reject posts that read like an ad. Anything aimed at new parents gets extra scrutiny.

Why did the list change so much from the export?

The export had a long tail of very low-authority domains, several with only a few hundred visits a month, and a lot of mom blogs from the 2010s that have since shut down. Those were dropped and replaced with parenting sites that were checked live in September 2026.

The metrics do not match my SEO tool. Why?

Domain Rating and traffic estimates are recalculated constantly and differ between Ahrefs, Moz and Semrush. Several entries are the parenting section of a larger publisher.

Want us to run the outreach?

We build the shortlist by tier, pair health pieces with a clinician reviewer, write the pitches and the pieces, and place them on real parenting publications. No link farms, no risk.
