FXVM: the verdict
FXVM is the cheaper trading VPS from ThinkHuge, the same company behind ForexVPS.net. It uses a smaller version of the same network (14 locations including NY4 and LD4), delivers around 1 ms to broker servers, and adds a low-cost virtual-desktop tier for running a single expert advisor.
It is the sensible pick when your account is too small for a broker's free-VPS deal but you still want a trading-specific host rather than a repurposed general VPS.
Best for: A single EA or MT4 chart where the cheapest reliable trading VPS is the goal.
Strengths
- Cheaper entry than ForexVPS.net for a similar network
- Virtual-desktop option for one lightweight EA
- Roughly 1 ms to New York and London
Watch-outs
- 1.5 GB RAM entry plan will not run MT5 comfortably
- Shares infrastructure and ownership with ForexVPS.net
- Lowest price needs an annual prepay
Who runs it, and since when
Operated by ThinkHuge Ltd, the same parent as ForexVPS.net.
Ownership: ThinkHuge Ltd.
Worth calling out:
- A low-cost virtual-desktop tier for one EA.
- NY4 and LD4 among 14 locations, roughly 1 ms to broker servers.
- Windows Server included, MetaTrader installer, included backups.
Plans, the renewal price and the hidden fees
The virtual-desktop tier starts around $12.50 a month for a shared setup suitable for one lightweight EA. Dedicated VPS plans start around $17 a month billed annually, with 1.5 GB of RAM and 60 GB of SSD on the entry tier, scaling up from there.
Pricing is flat with no renewal jump. The lowest rate needs an annual prepay; monthly billing costs more.
Not in the headline price:
- The 1.5 GB entry VPS is too small for MT5; you need a mid tier for anything beyond a single MT4 EA.
- The cheapest price is annual-only.
- Shares infrastructure and ownership with ForexVPS.net, so it is not a redundancy option.
Speed and uptime, from independent tests
FXVM sits on the same class of network as ForexVPS.net, with NY4 and LD4 among its 14 locations and roughly 1 ms latency to brokers in those hubs. For a single MT4 EA the performance is indistinguishable from the more expensive sibling.
It does not advertise the automatic volatility scaling that ForexVPS.net does, so a very busy multi-EA setup is better served by the parent brand.
The support experience
Support is 24/7 chat and tickets, shared with the ThinkHuge group, so the same trading-aware team. Setup help for MetaTrader is included.
Migrating a site in and out
Free setup assistance; a move is a fresh MetaTrader install plus your EAs.
Security, backups and account isolation
DDoS protection, included backups, and the group's no-maintenance-during-market-hours policy.
Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere
Use FXVM if
- A single MT4 EA where you want a trading-specific host but not the ForexVPS.net price.
- Traders whose account is below a broker's free-VPS threshold.
- Anyone who wants the virtual-desktop tier for the lowest trading-VPS cost.
Look elsewhere if
- MT5 or multi-chart traders: the entry RAM is too low and the parent brand handles volatility better.
- Anyone wanting a genuinely independent backup to ForexVPS.net.
- One-EA traders on the tightest budget, where Cloudzy is cheaper still.
FXVM alternatives worth a look
If FXVM is not quite right, these are the hosts we would look at instead:
- ForexVPS.net: The parent brand: more RAM options, volatility scaling, the larger network, for more money.
- Cloudzy: Cheaper at $6.95/mo for one EA, minus the trading-specific extras.
- Beeks (BeeksFX): The institutional option when latency is the strategy.
The bottom line
FXVM is the budget door into a proper trading VPS. For one MT4 EA near an Equinix-hosted broker, it does the job for about half the ForexVPS.net price, with the same support behind it.
Outgrow one EA and you should move up to the parent brand rather than stacking FXVM plans, and remember the two are the same company if you were counting on redundancy.
