What decides execution speed

The exact requirement: minimum equity, minimum monthly lots, or both, and what happens the month you miss it.

Which provider and datacenter the broker uses, so you know the latency to that same broker's server.

The VPS specs, which on free broker plans are usually 1 GB RAM, enough for one EA only.

Whether you are tied to that broker, and what moving costs you.

Our recommended VPS providers, ranked

Our top pick
1

ForexVPS.net

4.5 / 5

The provider behind most broker-sponsored free VPS deals, so a broker offer usually puts you on their NY4 or LD4 network at no direct cost if you hit the threshold.

From $28/mo (pay monthly)4 GB RAMEquinix NY4 (New York), Equinix LD4 (London)

Best for: Traders running several EAs or MT5 charts who want a host built only for trading

2

Cloudzy

3.9 / 5

If you do not qualify for a broker deal, $6.95/mo is close enough to free that locking up a $500 deposit to avoid it rarely makes sense.

From $6.95/mo (pay monthly)1 GB RAMNew York (near NY4), London (near LD4)

Best for: One or two EAs on a tight budget, or a light always-on Windows desktop

3

FXVM

4.0 / 5

The cheapest trading-specific paid option at about $17/mo, the sensible upgrade when your account is too small for a broker's free-VPS threshold.

From $17/mo (billed annually)1.5 GB RAMEquinix NY4 (New York), Equinix LD4 (London)

Best for: A single EA or MT4 chart where the cheapest reliable trading VPS is the goal

How we tested these VPS providers

We keep a data sheet of every provider in the comparison: current intro and renewal pricing, datacenter locations, storage, backups and money-back terms, each with the sources we checked it against. The ranking on this page is our judgement about which of those providers fits free forex VPS best, weighted by the criteria above. A provider only appears once its current data is verified; where we could not confirm a number, that host is left off rather than guessed.

Frequently asked questions

Is a broker's free forex VPS really free?

It is free of a hosting bill, but it comes with a condition: usually a minimum account balance (commonly $500 to $5,000) or a minimum trading volume per month (often 5 to 15 lots). If you would meet that anyway, take the VPS. If the condition pushes you to over-deposit or over-trade, the real cost is that money at risk.

What happens if I stop meeting the broker's requirement?

Most brokers start charging you the provider's standard monthly fee, or suspend the VPS at the end of the billing month. Read the terms: some give a grace period, others cut it immediately, which would stop your EAs.

Should I use a broker's free VPS or pay for my own?

A broker's free VPS is convenient and correctly located for that broker. Your own paid VPS ($7 to $30/mo) keeps you broker-independent, lets you pick the specs, and does not tie the decision to your account size. If you trade with one broker long-term and meet the threshold comfortably, the free option is fine.
