How we scored these hosts

We keep a data sheet of every provider in the comparison: current intro and renewal pricing, datacenter locations, storage, backups and money-back terms, each with the sources we checked it against. The ranking on this page is our judgement about which of those providers fits cheap dedicated server best, weighted by the criteria above. A provider only appears once its current data is verified; where we could not confirm a number, that host is left off rather than guessed.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a dedicated server?

Rarely, unless you have a specific reason: a compliance requirement for physical isolation, a workload that needs a full CPU's worth of consistent power, or licensing that is priced per physical socket. For a busy website, a store, or an app, a large cloud VPS delivers the same isolation and lets you resize without a migration.

Why are cheap dedicated servers mostly European?

European providers like Hetzner and OVH run large, efficient datacenters and sell previous-generation hardware through auctions and clearance lines. US dedicated hosting tends to bundle in more support and newer hardware, which raises the floor price.

What is the catch with a €30 dedicated server?

It is older hardware, self-managed, with a setup fee sometimes waived on longer terms, and support is ticket-only. The CPU may be a few generations old. For a knowledgeable admin running a specific workload it is a bargain; for a general website it is more machine and more responsibility than you need.
